The best of the best are set to transform the game
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team is approaching its biggest and best promo – the Team of the Year.
It all starts with nominations, which will include many of the top talents in world football, who will then gain votes to be included in the final XI.
Thanks to an early loading screen, we have our first look at FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees, so let’s dive right in!
EA seems to have accidentally pushed a FIFA 22 TOTY loading screen live early in-game, and as a result, we now have the full list of Attacker Nominees this year.
You can check out this loading screen and your Attacker options for the FIFA 22 TOTY XI below:
The usual suspects are involved, with PSG trio Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar all in contention.
Take a closer look at the TOTY Attacker Nominees.
The Team of the Year is exactly what it says on the tin, the best performing XI of the past year.
Expect it to include a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers, but not necessarily conforming to their positions.
It will probably also have a 12th man inclusion, which was picked up by Lionel Messi last year.
There will also be an honourable mentions list, for recognition of players that put in top performances but just didn’t make the cut.
As expected, the Team of the Year will come to the game in mid-January.
TOTY Schedule:
This suggests that the first Team of the Year cards will arrive in packs on Friday, 21 January, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Last year we saw 19 midfielders nominated for a spot in FIFA 21 Team of the Year, with Kevin De Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes, and Joshua Kimmich occupying the three spots in the final XI.
We are expecting something similar this year, although we will likely see the list filled with Chelsea and Manchester City stars!
N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and Mason Mount all have strong cases for inclusion this season, so competition will be fierce.
Take a look at who makes our Team of the Year Midfield Shortlist.
With so many players expected to be nominated, keep track of all the nominees in one place as they are revealed!
We have already seen the likes of Mohamed Salah and Robert Lewandowski confirmed in the attackers shortlist, so make sure you have your say when it is time to vote!
